At the end did Baylin / Balin intentionally close the portal? She was
thumbing
the device, wasn't she?

Thanks.
The episode is was pretty free of action. I seem to remember the old
serial had one or two speeded up fake fights in each chapter.
Skip the first 40 minutes or so until they get to Mongo.
Steve? was nicknamed Flash as a boy because his father's watch was
broken or running slow when he timed the boy racing. His father gave
him the defective watch. Flash has won some marathon three times.
(Flash is supposedly a fast runner.)
Flash was living with his mother because she was undergoing cancer
treatment. It was successful. His mother is now healthy and she is
leaving on a trip or something.
In high school he used to date Dale. Dale is now a reporter. She is
now engaged to a cop.
Dale gives a spanish speaking man a lottery ticket in exchange for a
supposedly alien object. (Carmen Moore played a translator. (sp?))
Dale and Flash defeat a robot. (Or cyborg?) It came through a
portal. (inter dimensional or trans dimensional or something.) It is
looking for the imex.
Flash discovers that his father did not die but went through a
portal. He has not been heard from since. It has been over a decade.
Flash and Dale go through a portal. They are put in a cell.
And now at least there are some colorful outfits.
----
Maybe you should start off with the second episode instead.
If so, Ming wants to adds Dale to his harem, Aura wants to test drive
Flash, Dale doesn't like either idea and Zarkov (the short bearded
guy) has the imex. Aura and Ming think he destroyed it. Flash got
tortured by Ming's head scientist. Aura rescued him.. Baylin/Balin,
an alien woman, is on earth. A man with wires in his head is seen on
Mongo in the final scene. (Flash's father?)
