Some would think that having the intelligence to succeed as a deputy
district attorney would have insulated this poor woman from the effect
of such traumas. It doesn't work that way, of course. Intelligence
doesn't protect one from depression, it can often actually amplify
that depression.

One would think that intelligence would insulate someone from going on a reality show though.

On a side note, I am getting very fearful for the "Kid Nation" kids.
Most of the initial concern has focused on long taping hours. Folks,
that was probably the easy part. The hard part for those kids will be
getting ripped over the coals by numbnut fans without yet having
developed the emotional maturity to withstand the criticism.
