THAT'S what you were talking about?! DYNASTY?! Good God, man,
I'm
doubtful as to whether that would have stood the test of time.

It didn't stand the test of time at the time.

Stupid show, but I did fall in lust with Heather Locklear.

I used to watch it faithfully with my then-wife. We played
predict-a-
plot. (But I recall we never foresaw the alien-abduction. That was
when the show jumped the shark, even by its own standards.)

I never watched the show, and have no idea how ridiculous it could
get.
So I can't tell if you're joking. WAS there a plot about alien
abduction? If so, which character was abducted, and what did the
aliens
want?

Take it as commentary that I won't try to find the details... but,
iirc, she was a new later-season "main" character and love-interest
(i.e., not Linda Evans or Heather Locklear). And, that particular
story-arc was quickly allowed to go the way of 'Lost's tree-eater.
(I.e., what the aliens wanted, and failed to get, was restored
ratings.)

Meanwhile, the one 'Dynasty' episode that stuck with me was a season-
finale where a lavish formal wedding featured the entire cast, and an
on-screen ensemble playing Bach's 'Sheep May Safely Graze'. (Great
little piece; find a YouTube rendition.) Then, terrorists jump out
and machine-gun everybody...

Many people believe that's when Dynasty jumped the shark.....

I think it was when they brought in the faux Fallon.

Who was later abducted by aliens on the spinoff "The Colbys". Later she
returned to "Dynasty", and no one would believe her about the aliens.
