Have you ever heard of "Spock's Brain Syndrome?" It's a term that I
coined to refer to the phenomenon that whenever you recommend to a
friend or acquaintance a show that you love, the very first episode
of it that they see will always be its equivalent of "Spock's Brain."

I remember it took 'til season 6 for the Buffy buzz to spread to the
mundanes, and suddenly my friends were calling and asking if they should
start watching it, and I had to tell them 'no' :(
