That is true, though I don't think the producers of Grey's Anatomy want to
part with too much of their cast. The more people that go to the spinoff,
the more chance that the two shows will split up the viewers.

They would never do that. If George or Izzie left GA they might as
well cancel the show because the ratings will drop. I can see Addison
and McSteamy leaving, but it's hard to see anyone else joining them.
It doesn't make sense (if they are moving to another city), but could
happen if they were just going to another hospital in the same city.
Still, I don't think that gives them enough separation between the two
shows so I think they will have Addison/McSteamy move on to another
city.
