With all those plot threads dangling so abruptly, I'm confident that
they'll be back for the season opener. Just because they're leaving
the series doesn't mean that they're done until their storylines are
done. They'll likely be back for the season opener, it's just that
their names won't be in the opening credits -- they'll be listed as
special guest stars, the usual.

Wouldn't be too surprised if they're already filming the season opener
as it's not unprecedented. ER often films its next season premieres
right after they've filmed the season finale cliffhanger, for the
purposes of keeping the continuity straight and for scheduling
purposes if an actor (even one that isn't a regular on the show) isn't
going to be available to film in the fall. Could be that Las Vegas
films the season premiere now for the same reason -- filming with Cann
and Cox now would be less disruptive to those actors' new schedules
for whatever their new projects will be than to just grab them for
what would be to them two random weeks at the end of July/early
August. No biggie, it's just a more efficient and fair use of
everybody's time. And it makes sense, considering that Las Vegas's
season was shortened to 17 episodes this season. They've certainly
got the filming time on their hands to do the season premiere now.
