1) Does Philly have so many detectives that they can spare 4 of them to
reopen a 1929 murder case?
It seems like the bigger cities do have detectives working on cold
cases from watching the shows on A&E and Discovery channel (like Cold
Case Files and such).
This episode not only stretched credibility
but shattered it. Would any real police department take this case 77
years later?
There is no statue of limitations for murder cases and it couldn't hurt
to close an old case even though all the suspects were dead.
Plus...Scotty did try to tell the pregnant woman that they couldn't
investigate it, but Lily insisted.
2) Could the kllers grandson be arrested for obstruction of justice? The
killer is dead so he cannot be tried so did the grandson commit a crime
of obstruction?
He did lie to the police.
Probably. But since the grandfather was dead, no DA probably would.
