I agree. It was really flat. This is the first time I've watched in
some years, so I don't know whether it's usually this bad, but I sure
wasn't impressed last night.

I thought that was okay. Well, I was doing housework while watching
the show, so I may have missed some glitches, but in the winning
moments I paid attention to, the TD dumped out of the video when
the winner(s) started speaking.
I was surprised that many times no one repeated the nominees' names
as their clips were being shown. If I were sight impaired, I'd be
pissed. (Unless the broadcast had Descriptive Video, but I doubt it.)
Ronn Owens of KGO radio in San Francisco is currently doing his
traditional "Trash the Emmys" show, which is always fun. (He does
one for the Oscars, too.) Ah, he just used the same word I did: "flat."
