It's rare that knowing the structure of a show's season actually makes
me more interested in a show. But knowing that they only intend to
run the show through December (then end it to make room for "24")
means that I'm not as worried that a) it will be cancelled early
or b) they will try and stretch everything out X-Files style.
Now, I don't expect them to resolve the big X-Files arc. They are
keeping that for season 2. But that's OK -- I don't *care* about
the X-Files arc. I care about Scofield, his elaborate escape plan,
and what happens when he is introduced to von Moltke ("No battle plan
ever survives contact with the enemy.")
So, even though I am incredibly underwhelmed by the various actors
(though Stacy Keach was earning his paycheck), and pretty much all
of the "outside" scenes are like watching paint dry, I'll probably
stick this one out.
But make no mistake -- the dialogue is bad and the acting is right
there with it. What did you expect with Marti Noxon as the show runner?
