be uncompetitive) stateside any more than he can control the oil

irrational, so while Bush has done a good job with his tax cuts to
keep what mfg jobs in the U.S. he can and to provide Americans with
the money to keep buying the products of manufacturer, some of the
public is in a bad mood.  If the Americans want, they can retain
some manufacturing in the U.S. via tarrifs on incoming goods,
