Jaie:
This is totally my speculation, but don't read if you don't want to
know . . .

When did we start adding all this space for speculation?
Adam seemed to have an epiphany the other day when he overheard Ashley
mentioning to Jack that she and Sharon, both expecting daughters, had
practically the same delivery date. It seems to me that Adam will
convince Patty Jane to take Sharon's baby in order to free up Jack,
and Adam, perhaps with Dr. Malpractice's help, will let Ashley think
she delivered that baby.
Dave:
This could actually fit. Adam thinks Jack is the father of Sharon's baby so
this would be his way of getting back at Jack by stealing his child. It
also gets Adam and Dr. Malpractice off the proverbial hook (and explains why
the good doctor was brought into it when prior to that Olivia was Ashley's
doctor). Whether or not TPTB had this all planned as the end-game, I have
no idea...but it all fits together. It won't pass Shirl's "plausible" bar
of standards but for a soap I guess that's ok (or so we have been lead to
believe). Interesting theory!!
I can't get past that Ashley miscarried and (a) SHE hasn't figured it
out yet (she had a miscarriage and didn't have any ... continued
bleeding since that night? or other occurrences that might give
HERSELF a clue that it's gone?), and (b) I find it HIGHLY implausible
that she wouldn't have lost the bulge, let alone continued to grow
bigger and bigger ONLY in the belly as though pregnant. If she DOESN'T
grow any bigger from the time of the miscarriage until she "gives
birth", wouldn't SOMEONE notice? "Gee, she's awfully small for being
8-1/2 months pregnant!" It's not as if even *a little* weight on
Ashley, one way or the other, wouldn't be significant enough to
notice! (c) I still don't get what the doctor thinks is going to
happen once SOMEONE/ANYONE figures it out. Jaie's speculation may be
true, but what would they have done had Sharon NOT conveniently come
into the story pregnant? and (d) what's in it for the doc? Why would a
reknown OB-GYN do this (maybe I missed that part)?
And (e) I guess the same medical personnel will be on hand that were
working when Phillip died. Hand them a $20 and they won't remember a
thing.
