God, yes. I'd love to have Jen Landon back, Jesse Sofer, too. But
please, let us have Jen in the form of Gwen, not Cleo!

Any word on how Jen's career is going? Talented girl.
According to the Internet MoveDatabase she's hasn't done anything on
tv or in film since ATWT but perhaps she's doing something in theatre?
According to this site, she recently took part in a nutrition campaign,
in honor of her father, promoting a diet "rich in whole grains, fruits,
and vegetables" to prevent cancer and other diet-related illnesses:

Sorry to hear that.

Dana (utterly unconvinced that a low fat diet based on grains is
healthful)

Ditto here. I read "diet rich in whole grains" and I run the other way.

I don't see how since all scientific evidence shows it as helpful, and low
carb diets as very detrimental to one's health. There must be a balance of
grains, fats and proteins. I am not sure I believe in a very high carb, low
fat diet, but restricting carbs just kills energy, and the weight loss is
all water.
Not really true. The American public has been sold a whopper of a lie about
grains & as a result of that the typical American eats far too many carbs. The
body doesn't actually need any carbs at all, but I'm not recommending any
extreme position like that. I ate a very low fat, low protein diet for a long
time because that's what the medical experts said to do. I did it for my
health - cholesterol & all that. It resulted in being a very high carb diet,
with plenty of vegetables, both starchy & non-starchy, very little meat, ...
While I was getting healthier, I lost a bunch of pounds. But, it didn't stay
off. It slammed right back on & within 2 years I had been diagnosed as a Type
2 diabetic. Now, yes, I have tons of family members on both side who have (and
have had) both Types of diabetes, but, all that shows is a genetic
predisposition. The story of people working a low fat diet for their health &
initially having good results that come back to bite them in the ass & then
soon after being diagnosed as T2 is echoing all over.

Even the ADA, heavily funded by Big Grain, is reducing their recommendations
on how many carbs should be eaten & the AACE already have.

There's lots of scientific evidence that proves lots of things, including what
I'm saying, as well as what you're saying.

I just know I'd never go on a diet where I was stripping my body of fiber, and loading it up on meat. My mother is fighting stage III colon cancer, and one of the main causes is high meat consumption.

Actually, there's no association between fresh meat and colon cancer, and only a weak link between processed meats and colon cancer. Furthermore, a low fat, high fiber diet has been demonstrated *not* to prevent colon cancer. Further-furthermore, a high glycemic load diet -- ie, a high carb diet -- *has* been implicated in colon cancer. And further-further-furthermore, a whole lot of low carbers end up eating *MORE* fiber than they did before they went low carb.

But thanks for playing.

Dana
