My major complaint, top of the list, was how LML ignored history. History has always been so important to the show. However, even the original writers would sometimes write themselves into a corner and their response was to ignore or patch up that particular bit of history.

For instance, Michael killing that secretary which will probably play out as he only grazed her and she has had amnesia and doesn't remember any of it.

There are varying accounts of that ... some SWEAR they saw him shoot her while others say that it was implied but left to the viewer's imagination, similar to how people also swear that Phyllis killed Sasha when it was, in actuality, left for viewers to decide if Phyllis knew the place was ablaze and walked away.

Michael told her he was taking her to lunch. They drive out to the middle of a forest. It was fall. There were leaves all over the ground. They were walking and Michael fell behind. She stopped and turned around. Her eyes widened in horror. The camera moved back. The angle was from behind Michael on the right side. He is standing there with that look he used to get, like she is a bug on a rock, his right arm is outstretched with a revolver in his right hand she starts to turn and he shoots. She falls. He leaves.

Michael NEVER discussed it. Never told anyone. He killed her because she was going to testify as to his sexual harassment of the women in the office. He was going to be fired and lose his license.

How people outwardly deal with the death of a loved-one isn't always a clear indication of the depth of what they're feeling. There is an infinite number of ways people deal with death/grief, and even though one person may outwardly APPEAR to be more devastated than someone else, that's not necessarily always the case. Some people are very private in their grief, and you don't always handle every death in the same way, either.

Yes, I agree. But Nikki falls down the stairs, they take her to the hospital, she loses the baby and she gets dressed and there is Jack and his family with the baby and then it is apparent the child will die and Jack is approached about saving another child and Nikki says "Do what you think is best." And goes home. That was not even remotely plausible.

And, not to forget, Jack's son Keemo. Hello, he LIKES living in Vietnam because he gets to hang with his buddies? That was so pathetic. They could have had him, at least, move to Berkley to go to the University and he is teaching somewhere.

? Why would you pick on Berkeley? because of its connection to the Vietnam era?

Heavens no, it was the first prestigious university I thought of, it could have been Stanford or Princeton.

I don't think it's so far-fetched or pathetic that Keemo prefers Vietnam; he grew up there. I agree that since they went to the trouble of giving Jack this other family -- finding Keemo wasn't exactly easy -- they should address it on occasion. But on the other hand, just because Jack is his father doesn't mean Keemo would automatically prefer America. In fact, his mother died there ... he may figure there are far more meaningful ties in Vietnam than there would be for him in America (and yes, I realize he has a sister there, too, but it's not unrealistic that he'd have stronger ties where he grew up).

I agree, but Keemo specifically said he wanted to go back to Vietnam because he missed hanging with his buddies. He didn't know anyone here and now that his mom was dead there was nothing to keep him in the US. The point is that the writers did not even want to deal with Keemo and the really good plots that could have resulted. They just shipped him off to Vietnam. Never to be heard of again. That kid ever write?

Oh, and the whole Victor/Cole mess. But the worst was Nikki falling for Cole. That had a major eww factor.

Agreed. But there have been several eww-factor Victor crushes, too ... i.e., has anyone been able to forget the Tricia black lingerie seduction scene with Victor?

That was even worse than when Victor began getting "that look" when Christine came to work at Newman. Oh, man the eww factor was worse, except for Tricia's attempt at seduction. I think that Victor was appalled.
That was FAR more eww than Nikki/Cole, IMO, and I
know Phil would disagree, but Ramona's fascination with Victor was eww also...IMO.

That was the fakiest story on the show. I ff through most of it. I had no idea that Romona was "just caught up" in the kidnapping. And btw that fakey lost in the desert because she couldn't find a reliable jeep or truck just made me want to throw something at the screen.
