I certainly wasn't talking about poor sound or picture quality...I was
referring to having designer furniture, accessories and clothing. The
show can still be offered in HD even if the rim on the coffee cups isn't
24kt REAL gold.
Now, I'm reacting to the "special" out of studio show I saw over
Christmas, but I understand that this is to be a new permanent
fixture.
Trust me...sets matter. And they REALLY matter when you're
trying to get new viewers to sample.
I love that Y&R is lush and beautiful. I love that it is in in HD.
Both enhance my enjoyment, and keep me watching above
and beyond the storyline.
Again, it can still meet all the current high-tech standards for audio
and picture without having to have rooms, furniture and clothes suitable
for Queen Elizabeth.
Viewers who watch regularly can't help but notice the sets and the
wardrobe, but if the stories themselves don't keep those people hooked
and tuning in, it won't matter who designed Victor's suit jacket.
