Shemar Moore has a prime time hit - why would he even consider go back to
soaps? His character on Criminal Minds is nothing like Malcolm and for that
I'm sure he's happy. He's also had a couple of fairly good movies. I liked
Malcolm before he left and then returned - when he returned with the mmmBaby
talk and rag on his head, he wasn't Malcolm any more!

I never knew Malcolm before he came back to be Lily's daddy. I didn't
care for him. The only reason I'd want him to come back is to briefly
tie up loose ends with Neil. I really just wanted Neil to confront
him for what he did. After all the flack Neil gave Dru, I felt
Malcolm should get some.

But the real reason I started this thread is that I thought it was
interesting that he apparently has problems with the new regime.

I'm not surprised he had problems. He got along well with the Bell "family" and then left to go to the WB where he met another style of show production. When he returned to Y&R, things had already started to change as the Bell's became less involved with the show. And, now, after being with CBS on a prime time hit show, it would be difficult for him to return to the haphazard (at least that's how it appears!) style of writing Y&R has now with LML. I'm sure, as an actor, he doesn't like to watch the destruction/possible demise of his first show. Another thing to remember about Shemar Moore, when he returned to Y&R, he had a pretty free rein (the hair and the "rag" and the jive talk) - none of which would be tolerated by LML with her my way or the highway style.
