I started reading the book and got about halfway through before I jumped to the end of it. In a nutshell, Jonathan meets and falls for a girl named Aubrey. Her father is the sheriff of the town and he is evil. He is the one who let Alan know about Jonathan and Sarah.
Jonathan has a fight with the sheriff and thinks he is dead. Reva arrives on his doorstep right at the end, looks around and she thinks he is dead too. She tells them to hurry up and leave, that Alan is on his way saying she will deal with the mess. They leave and Alan arrives and comes to the conclusion that Reva has just killed this man. Alan also confronts her about Jonathan and Sarah being alive.
Reva tells him that the dead guy is the sheriff and that he also called her saying the same thing about Jonathan and Sarah, but that it was all a scam to get money out of her and Alan. She convinces Alan that Jonathan and Sarah are dead.
About that time, the sheriff moves around and aims his gun at Reva. Alan takes the hammer (the one Jonathan had used on him) and really kills him with it. They bury the body in the back yard and hop on Alan's jet back to Springfield saying they now have this secret and they have to trust each other.
