If Craig's wife and family would ring around him and say "Whatever the
truth is, it's okay! We're a family, and we'll figure this out",

he'd lie at first and say "But I'm not gay!"...But if the family kept
supporting, kept pushing for the truth, eventually those walls might
crumble.

Mrs. Craig was a divorced woman with three children when she married
Craig. He thereafter adopted her children. She probably thought she
was lucky at the time. Not many men will marry a woman with three
dependants. I imagine she is now realizing that she was used as a
beard.

Maybe she's known from the beginning because he was completely honest
with her; All he had to do was to be discrete.

I am sure I am view is affected by my own personality. I can't
imagine being a relatively young heterosexual woman making a bargain
such as this. Also, nothing in Senator Craig's behavior indicates
that he has been honest with himself, much less anyone else.

His website speaks of his three children and grandchildren (I'm
Not Gay!). It's hard to be supportive of someone who has lied to you,
and continues to lie to you. I refuse to cynically say that she got
the benefit of the bargain, got to be a senator's wife and got his
money. It takes a toll on one to live with a man who lives a lie.
She's probably had her first HIV test this week.

It's also possible that when they last had sex, AIDS wasn't even a
threat.

Again, that is assuming that this mother of three children doesn't
like sex.
