Mrs. Craig was a divorced woman with three children when she married
Craig. He thereafter adopted her children. She probably thought she
was lucky at the time. Not many men will marry a woman with three
dependants. I imagine she is now realizing that she was used as a
beard. His website speaks of his three children and grandchildren (I'm
Not Gay!). It's hard to be supportive of someone who has lied to you,
and continues to lie to you. I refuse to cynically say that she got
the benefit of the bargain, got to be a senator's wife and got his
money. It takes a toll on one to live with a man who lives a lie.
She's probably had her first HIV test this week.

You spoke of suicide, and I too have wondered if that is how this will
end. That would be tragic. Your scenario is much more pleasant, but
resolution will depend on Craig telling his family the truth.

Idaho sounds like an inhospitable territory to be gay. So close to
Seattle and Eugene geographically, but home to the Mark Furmans who
flee the rest of the country. No offense to any Idahoans out there!
Gee, I am as bad as those people who think all Alabamaians are
toothless illiterates.
