Loved when Craig/Meg got booted from the mansion!
I loved when Paul said "We'll just sit here and wave good-bye" and
Rosanna said "Bye" and waved her hand at them. Cady was perfect.
But I didn't get Craig saying, "I have lost this battle, Rosanna, but
I don't intend to lose the war" (or something like that). Unless
they're going to abandon all plausibility (see: Day 1 of Dusty's
arrest), he doesn't have a leg to stand on, does he? The assets are
Rosanna's. He had "custody" of them while she was in a coma and not
competent to manage them. She's not in a coma anymore. Game. Set.
Match. Am I missing something?
Probably whatever silly twist the show is going to toss in.
I think you've hit it exactly. On Monday's and Tuesday's shows when he
was laying into Lily, and she was so totally, totally deserving it, I
was still annoyed with him because he's so cold toward her, and so
smug and self-righteous. Yes, I know he has some entitlement here.
Yes, I know he's basically held the family together for the last six
months to a year while Lily had all sorts of issues
Actually, it's been years that Holden has been the linchpin of this
family while Lily unspooled over one reason or another. It pretty
much started after Rose died and Lily went wacko (something Holden
forgave and forgot about all too quickly and a story that was resolved
in a day or two) and has been one thing or another since. Holden
should've divorced her long ago and never looked back.
(and I do give him
credit for that; Holden, unlike Lily, has actually grown up). Yes, I
realize (God do I realize) that Lily's behavior is ridiculous and
appalling (not to mention, as he said, detrimental to the family he's
spent so much time keeping together).
Her behavior has been and continues to be atrocious. And her sudden
devotion to Dusty makes no sense since before this she hadn't spoken
to him in months and months. I can't get that she thinks that Dusty
bagging Ali is just fine. Holden and Aaron see it for the sick and
disgusting behavior that it is. But they're the ones who just don't
get it. Whatever.
But it's Lily--being Lily. She's
true to form. He's been together with her, off and on, for 20 years
now. She's The Princess, totally. This behavior can't exactly be a
surprise to him. Now, if he's just sick of it, sick to death of it,
after two decades of it, more power to him (God knows he ought to be).
So just let her have it and tell the *truth* instead of hiding behind
this smug, self-righteous facade. I actually laughed when he was
saying "*I'm* honest." Literally, he's right. He does what he says
he's going to do. But emotionally, he's as dishonest as they come,
because he won't own what he's really feeling and what he's really mad
about. So instead he sulks and puts on this air of moral disapproval.
And he's right, as I said. Lily's behavior is appalling. But he's
hiding behind moral disapproval to avoid what he's really feeling, and
that's no less dishonest than her atrocious behavior.
He has a right to morally disapprove of Lily's actions. Every once
in awhile Holden does hint that he's fed up with Lily's constant
drama. But not enough for it have any impact.
Consequently, they bore me stiff. I don't care what happens to either
of them or their marriage (which is OK, because neither one of them
seems to really care what happens to their marriage either).
I think Holden does, but I think he's tired of putting up with it the
way things have been going. Lily doesn't though. She's blatantly
ignoring the havoc being wrecked on her marriage. She seems to have
no sense of history, even recent history. Does she realize how many
times she's put herself and her children at risk with her thoughtless
behavior? And she's doing it again! Holden though, has always put
the kids first. He's one of the rare parents on this show that does.
They are 18, right? And
they are determined to have a baby right this minute no matter what. Why
is that? Does Will even have a job?
I believe he works at a bookstore. I tend to FF Will and Gwen scenes
so sometimes I miss something. But he certainly wouldn't be making
enough to support himself and Gwen, much less a baby.
And they're so . . . aggressive . . . whenever anyone (like Barbara,
who I thought was a modicum of delicacy yesterday) questions whether
this is the right thing or not.
I could see a defense when Gwen thought she had a limited window of
opportunity to have a child (which I didn't realize when I initially
commented about this toryline) and so she'd better do it while she
can. But now that the doctors have nixed that, there's no reason to
hurry along with this donor idea. I'm not writing this storyline off
yet, but when they start rushing forward to embrace the donor thing,
it's going to be yet another one I don't care about. They'll deserve
whatever heartache they're getting into.
So true. When Will said today they'll find a way to pay for the
medical procedures they need to undertake, I thought finally someone
is thinking of money. But then Will said 'they'll find a way'. Or
something like that. I was too busy changing the channel. I am *so*
weary of this couple and I hate the baby drama. They'll probably hit
Babs up for the cash. There was a time when Babs refused Will his
trust fund because he refused to go to school and get a job and wanted
to support he and Gwen on that money. I was on her side at that
time. I'd love it if she said no for the reasons that are practical
and logical. But she won't because she's 'good' Babs now.
And Cole and Sophie? They bore me so much I want to jab my eyes out.
Cole is in "early Molly Conlan" territory for how much I can dislike a
character who hasn't been around very long. All he has to do is occupy
my screen and I'm irritated. Sophie's issues are tiresome and of her
own making. Can't care. Don't care. Not gonna care.
Michael
The fact that they are tied to Will and Gwen is reason enough not to
watch them. I wish they'd get Aaron out of this plot though. He
deserves better.
