So, in addition to all of this, I have to recreate my email files, hoping beyond hope that two of my most important correspondents have saved our email. THIS time I am going to print them out and save to a hard copy folder.

Do yourself a favor and backup your work DAILY to CD or disk.

The problem was not back up, the problem was email. And, yes, I should have created a file with important email on the hard drive.

What happened was that when the "cleaner" got rid of the viruses it got rid of the email, because, evidently, all the viruses were embedded in the email. Not on my hard drive, yes, I know they were on the hard drive, but we removed those, but couldn't remove them from the email, so it just deleted the email.

But, thank you for knocking me upside the head.
