I don't want to start a fight or anything, but....if my employer has
hired
me to do a job and part of that job requires certain physical
attributes,
conditions, whatever, and I agree to those terms, then I should have
every
expectation of losing that job if I fail to have those attributes. IF
she
was asked to lose weight and she didn't, then shouldn't she have
expected
to lose her job, if those were part of the terms of her employment?

What physical attributes would she be "required" to have that she
doesn't already have?

I remember back in the day when flight attendants had to meet certain
height/weight requirements or they were fired. I don't see much
difference here. If the flight attendant can do her job, her weight
shouldn't matter. The morbidly obese wouldn't hack it, anyway. As to
actors, I am pretty fed up with my daughters being given the
not-so-subliminal message (*especially* here in SoCal) that if you're
not stick thin, you might as well go live in a cave. Colleen looks,
above all else, *healthy*. Populating a soap - or any other show, for
that matter - with *normal* looking people might be a nice stab in
developing healthy images of ourselves and others. I know I've
mentioned this before, but I saw one of the "Desperate Housewives" in
Santa Barbara a while back and she look *hideous* IRL, an absolute
bone factory.

If the actor got fired because of her weight, TPTB have some serious
'splainin' to do, Loosey.
