Michael Dempsey. Who's fired because he's blamed for the lack of support for
the wretched Marina/A-M pairing.

I don't think that was the case at all.

It wasn't his fault but he is definitely being blamed. TPTB have come out and
said it. Writers should fire themselves, imo. That's why I said Bruno must
have very good friends in high places. Naturally, no one is blaming her.

I read on a GL fan board that was exactly what was being said and/or inferred.
"Marina and A-M never caught on" something to that effect - which means they are
blaming him, coupled with "he never caught on with viewers."
Dempsey's being shafted, I hope he gets the last laugh.

Yes, sounds like what I posted, read, etc. in the soap press except taken out
of context. I assure you that in a case like this it's not about blame.

I think they need
fresh blood behind the scenes, hire some new writers, shift around TPTB.

Yeah, that's the last thing they need at GL at this point!! GL has had way too
many changes in the last dozen years. Ellen Wheeler made some much needed
changes when she finally got to *do* some of what EPs are supposed to do,
while many were met by fan whining about not keeping on people who had been
there forever. Things have been relatively stable behind the scenes since that
happened & then they changed venues & got new union crews, ... with a cutting
down of the writing staff apparently coming up. P&G played fruit basket
turnover to the detriment of all their shows shortly before they stupidly
turned them all over to MADD. Too much change too often continued. Goutman at
ATWT and Wheeler at GL have been the most stability we've had in ages!

But, if there's any last laugh for this actor to have, ... hmm, what work had
you seen him in before?

I was referring to work in the future.

Yeah. I know. If he gets another gig, it will be interesting to see how he is
there. He's just not anyone I'd make predictions about!

I had no problem with him and hate to
see him go.

Yeah. I know. I'm okay with his departure. They tried him in many different
settings & more than one pairing. If they didn't see what they wanted, they
gave him ample time & variety to see.
