And the other problem is that conflict is the only thing that interests
us. We may not like it, but we watch it. When it is all sweet and
loving there is nothing to watch, nothing to hold our interest.
But you know what...I think that's not true! I _loved_ "sweet
Victor", and I would pay to see that sweetness continue to shine
through. He can be focused, even dastardly...as long as he
continuously reminds us that he loves his wife and children and will
NOT turn on them. That's much more compelling than this sudden
"rivalry" and "family schism".
The only thing that was interesting about Dru yesterday was waiting for
her to blow up.
That's true. She almost did, though! Fun to see her trying to
control herself. And that HEADGEAR!!!
Nikki and Phyllis was not expected and the conflict seems to hark back
to months ago with regard to Cassie's death. I find it demeaning to
Nikki that she would be so over the edge, though it is fascinating. The
problem is she has no real clout. What can she do?
Agreed! She's playing her Sharon scenes with Phyllis. She was just
so RUDE to her prospective daughter-in-law. She loses my sympathy
with this petulance.
I sure hope it is all a ruse, and she's secretly in cahoots with
Victor.
And I still find the conflict with Phyllis and Lauren to be pathetic.
Phyllis is taking out her frustrations on Lauren since Sheila is,
supposedly, dead. That relationship is, sadly, broken and not to be
"fixed."
Yes, yes, yes! Phyllis is misdirecting. And yes, SADLY that
friendship is being killed. Let's hope Lauren gets her own b*tchiness
back in the process...that will at least be a saving grace.
At least Nick is the same, totally devoid of intelligence and playing
pacman in his head.
Yes!!! He was so compelling and so smart for so long. And now?
They're squandering all of his gains. He was a man...and now he's
back to being a boy. Controlled by his wife's moods, back to pleasing
daddy or grimacing at daddy's control. All his maturity...lost.
And I think that the writers never intended Amber and Kane to break up.
Amber as a daughter in law is much more interesting that Amber as an
annulled wife.
Well, I've seen some spoilers. This will be a surprising ride! 'nuff
said!
Something about Amber, she is loyal. She is not threatening to her
family as long as they treat her with a modicum of respect and concern.
Her melt down on B&B was totally out of left field an I did not
believe it for one moment, especially since the Foresters left her to
fend for herself. How many things does she have to do to prove her
loyalty? And how many babies does she have to lose before they showed
her any kindness?
You're right! Rick was an ass to her.
I like Amber, she is one of the most interesting and complicated
characters on the show AND she has more layers than a croissant. You
never know what is going to happen or what she is going to do. Yes, she
is manipulative, but she is, also, loyal and loving. She can make me
feel sorry for her while she is going over the edge.
Agreed.
You wrote this post for me, didn't you! :-)
