Y&R and B&B

OK, I know that change is good. Hell, I am someone who advocates change. You don't change you die. You don't grow you die. You don't learn new things and advance you die. It is that simple whether it is a person or a culture.

But, having said that, what is going on these two shows is NOT growth nor is it change.

Some of the stuff I hated simply because I didn't think it was handled correctly. For instance John and Cassie's death. Yes, I can see the conflicts that have resulted, but I think, still, the deaths were unnecessary. Hell, they have people hooked up to machines all over Genoa City, what difference could two more make?

Some of the stuff is flat out silly. The Brad story had so much potential. I really liked that he was Jewish, but he could have been Jewish without the Nazis there, or at least they could have shown a little more imagination about it. His mom could have worked in a museum or for a very rich man whose dad had ties to the Nazis and he was dealing in stolen treasures, that would make much more logic.

I loved the side of Brad where he showed, as Mark pointed out, that he wasn't JUST a business man, but had been a real get down and dirty soldier type. I was very impressed with his moves in the fight, either he has done that for real or he is a good student. Very impressive and so realistic.

But there are things that TPTB have done that make NO sense. Sharon turning to Jack is just freaking freaking. Jack even thinking about it is so stupid. I cannot wait until Nikki finds out she will have his guts for garters. And Victor, oh man.

WHY is Katherine on the back burner? Why is Jill? They are two of the most dynamic characters and they are just having coffee?

Making Nikki a strong business woman was a great story and THEN turning her back into Victor's lap dog was stupid.

Nick and Phyllis does not appeal to me as much as Phyllis and Jack. First of all, Phyllis is too old for Nick. She has a son who is just a few years younger than Nick. Or did Nick go to Switzerland one weekend and age ten or twenty years?

The conflict between Dru and Neil is good. Neil and Carmen is NOT. Carmen has as much spark as a wet match.

Conflict is good, love stories are really ewww, because none of them are believable. Last believable one was Michael and Lauren.

I could nit pick all day, but let me get to B&B.

Lordy, where to start. OK, get rid of everyone EXCEPT Stephanie, Eric and Sally.

Start there. Bring back Amber.

Write stories that center on the fashion industry, not Brooke's bedroom, either the line or the location.

That sums it up in a few sentences.

BTW, turning Hector into a kidnapper was STUPID. A wonderful character RUINED.

And Taylor is NO longer believable as a psychiatrist.

Lose them all. Except the trinity, the Mother, the Father and the Holy terror.
