Caught the Queen of Diamonds on Larry King last night. It started out
like a visit to the Elephant's Graveyard . La Liz was uptight,
uncomfortable and appeared drugged or stunned. As the night wore
on--and on and on- a few rays of the feisty and smiling legend peeked
through and when her jewelry partner Cathy Ireland started laying on
compliments with a trowel, E.T. lost at least ten years from her face.
We need to smile often.
Yesterday I got a DVD of my own appearance on a community cable TV show
and will never believe my own impression of what I am seeing in a
mirror.

I've done several tv programs over the years and have actually been
flipping
through the channels and gone by one with me on it, stopped to see what
they
were talking about, and didn't even realize it was me being interviewed
for
a minute or so. It's very weird how different we perceive ourselves and
how
we actually look in front of the camera. Fortunately, I seem to come out
sounding more intelligent than I think I am, which astounds me more than
anything else. Well, that and my hair.
does Queen Latifah carry off her great wardrobe in "Last Holiday" when
she weighs fifty pounds more than I?
Carol
From the pictures I've seen of you, there is nothing resembling ahunchbacked sack of anything to be seen. You look fabulous, Darling! You
really do. As for Queen Latifah, I don't know how she does it, but that
wardrobe was to die for.
As an aside, it was the Grandhotel Pupp where I was laid up with my broken
hip, the same place where they filmed Last Holiday.
