I don't remember whether she said that specifically, but she was way
overboard in the outrageous heinous things she did say & in specifically
pushing Will to try to work on Paul to try to get a different result, to
prevent the marriage, to break them up, etc.

Plus, don't forget what a mess Will was at the time. He had been ripped
away from Hal and Emily - literally - at their wedding. Paul was the only
(seemingly) normal one in the family and had even gone to the point with
Will of suggesting that he might come and stay with he and Rose for an
extended period.

I thought it was Paul's idea for Will to come & stay with him & Rose, but,
yes, I remember what a basket case Will was & how he seemed shell-shocked
from his family being torn apart.

And, didn't Babs put Will up
to, or somehow involve him in, vandalizing things at Paul & Rose's?

Yes. The spray paint. Barbara specifically convinced Will to do that.

Back to Anthony:
... Yes, Babs didn't like Rose (for
good reason) and she plot Rose's murder herself, but called it off at
the last minute. ...

I also am interested in what good reason Babs had for her kneejerk
snobbish
elitist opinion that Rose was trash who wasn't good enough for her son.

Well, she was an Atlantic City showgirl. And hardly the model of class and
decorum. I can see why Barbara felt the way she did about her at first.

Hmm, okay, LOL, yeah, I know the snobbish reasons, but ... the way Anthony
said that Babs didn't like her for good reason, I didn't think that he meant
a snobbish reason that Babs would justify, ... I thought he meant something
most people would consider a good reason to dislike her - although dislike
is a really lukewarm word for it.

Babs may be pushy and obscessive, but I don't believe
she pushed Will into doing what he did or wanted him to do it.

Oh, I do. Definitely.

As do I. Will would never have done that if he hadn't been so totally
screwed up. Also, don't forget the major cries for help that the kid had
been doing for well over a year. Burning down the Snyder barn.

But, Will didn't do that, remember - the barn fire. That was really Alison,
who let Will take the blame for it for too long. But, Will was marked by the
experience.

... As for the fact that he didn't intend to kill
her, maybe, but he sure as heck never felt much guilt about his
actions, then or now. ...

Oh, I think he did & does. I think it nearly sent him over the edge.

He seemed totally numb at the time, but that may just have been a young
actor (albeit a good one) trying to play more depth than he could at the
time.

You mean before the SORASing? If so, yeah, good way to put it. I was
thinking primarily of after Jesse took the role.

But since then, I think the experience has clearly scarred Will.
But - I also think that his judgemental side is rather appalling at times,
given the mistakes he has made.

Judgmental side? Okay, like what? I mean, he has strong preferences,
opinions, likes & dislikes, initially, like Babs, Paul, Jenn, Hal, ... only
he is very able to take a bit & come back with a more open attitude, unlike
most of his family. But, I'd still wonder what some examples were of his
being judgmental, 'cos I don't see that, or the 'better than' attitude.

I
guess that's why I don't care much for Will, especially when he cops
this self-righteous 'I'm better than the rest of my family' attitude.

Whoa, now that is not an attitude I see coming out of Will. At all.

I do see it at times and it is rather unattractive. But I can see it as a
broken guy acting out most of the time.

I don't think Will thinks he's better than anyone on the planet. I think he
puts himself down way too much for that.
