What's with all the OT crap? Is Y&R

guess I have to rev up my filters to
cover The OT. Not to be confused by
The OC.
Wondering.
Two things jump to mind...one is, even though people will defend OT
postings (myself included), we ALL need to be aware that it can take
over the main intent of a newsgroup *very* easily. I used to frequent
the Toyota ng, but it's become more OT political than anything related
to autos. It's important, IMO, that people be aware of the current topic
flow and when there's too many OT threads, don't jump in with another.
It's important that the main focus of the group be CBS soaps, IMO, with
a few OTs sprinkled for fun.
The other thing that jumped to mind was, if you want to talk about the
show, get off yer ass and post a topic! Sometimes I go to the well
thinking of something to post because no one else is doing so. I'm not
suggesting that people should throw a bunch of crap out there and see
what sticks, but a little help from the backstage crew would be nice!
