The majority of parents are blind when it comes to seeing it with their
kids.
They can see it with the neighbors kids but not their own.
They can be friends with gays but it hits home when it's one of their
own.

The thing is what changes?
It is still the same person they have known all their lives.
It's not like the son or daughter is going to ever have sex in front of
them.

Well, and I think most parents are uncomfortable with their children's burgeoning sexuality in general. How many parents of 16 or 17 year olds are still thinking "Not my baby!" when their kid's already had several sex partners?
