I have a couple, though I don't know how they compare to other models.
But I thought you should know -- it's a rare trip to the Goodwill that I
don't see a perfectly good bread machine for sale. Generally around $10.

Speaking of which, my Salvation Army can opener (purchased several years
ago, fairly new and in perfect condition) went on the fritz recently, so
I was looking for a "new" one. Last week, at my fave little local thrift
store, called Yesterday's Treasures, I got a Black & Decker "Gizmo,"
which is a cordless and hands-free can opener. It takes some getting
used to, but it's a pretty cute and handy little thing. It came in the
original box with all the papers, etc. They were having a half-price
sale on everything in the store that day, so I got it for $3. I feel
good.
Gotta love shopping used. :-)
My best recent used purchase was a queen-sized sleigh bed for my new
master bedroom. It's 3 years old and looks new. The original owners paid
$800. I paid them $200. :-)
And does everyone know about freecycle?

Oh my God, I love thrift stores. I used to live near Springfield, IL.
They have the best thrift stores there. Better than any I've shopped
at in St. Louis, Milwaukee, Cincinnati, or Evansville, IN, I can tell
you. I miss those stores badly since I moved away. God, the antiques I
bougtht at this one Salvation Army store!! And Ralph Lauren sheets,
designer clothing, wicker furniture, I could go on and on.
