Speaking of which, my Salvation Army can opener (purchased several years
ago, fairly new and in perfect condition) went on the fritz recently, so I
was looking for a "new" one. Last week, at my fave little local thrift
store, called Yesterday's Treasures, I got a Black & Decker "Gizmo," which
is a cordless and hands-free can opener. It takes some getting used to, but
it's a pretty cute and handy little thing. It came in the original box with
all the papers, etc. They were having a half-price sale on everything in
the store that day, so I got it for $3. I feel good.
