Do you watch ER? There's a storyline this season involving Angela Bassett's character, who is now the head of the ER. Her 5 y/o son fainted or something, and when they checked him in the same ER (years before, Mark Greene worked on him) they learned he was in last stages of leukemia without having had previous symptoms, and he died that very day--usually the show is pretty accurate so I guess, yes, you could develop the disease and be symptom free.

Of course you could google leukemia and find out more scientific details. :-)

I watch ER it seems that they are going out by making me cry every episode. Kind of wished that Doug & Carol found out the kidney was for Carter, and they delivered it personally.

And I agree--these last episodes of ER have been GREAT. I've been watching since the show came on so many years ago, and while it hasn't
'jumped the shark', it IS time to move on--but I'll still miss all the
characters!
