HOOOlia didn't want surgery because it wouldn't fix her problem.  Her
liver was lacerated and it was bleeding out.  They couldn't fix it
anyway, so she chose death with dignity.  A choice that Dr. Joe wrested
from her as soon as she died.

Ruby (And as an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor, let me just
say that his treatment of her was totally inappropriate based both on

I understood that. But Joe was within his rights to NOT code her based
on "medical futility." And given her choice to die with dignity rather
than waste her last moments on a uselss operation (a choice with which
Joe concurred) he should have just let her go. With dignity. And if
he WERE going to code her, he could have done it RIGHT!

Yeah. Maybe I'm spoiled from watching "ER" all these years, but that was the
lamest attempt at a resuscitation I've ever seen. Even _I_ could see that
she was tachy, and brading down!
