Now, to continue. That's NuBabe? That's ridiculous. She should justBreck girl & be still & quiet. And, that's not Babe. <<

See, that's my major complaint about the character, too. I've posted ad
nauseum about this (at least it feels like it's been ad nauseum).
Besides
being so boring (in looks and delivery), she also is _not Babe_. And
this is
not someone who was totally enamored with Alexa Havins and can't stand a
recast; no, I've always hated the character of Babe but thought Alexa
did
a
fine enough job. My problem with NuBabe is that she is no longer
portraying
the character as written: Babe is an under-educated, street smart, blue
collar, self-proclaimed trailer queen who collected cows (!!), and who
knew
when to shake and shimmy a bit to get her way. She never completely
left
that redneck gold digger persona behind, even after "marrying up" and
becoming the town saint. Oh, and also, she's from the southern tier of
the
country, with the accent to prove it. Or _should_ be. But NuBabe?
Welcome back, Donna. I'm tentatively back myself. Now about this
NuBabe
business. I propose that we no longer refer to her as that, but
rather as UnBabe,
because, let's face it, it works.
Mare - and now we have the UnBabe and the Undaid!- Hide quoted text -

or it could be FauxBabe or PseudoBabe too- but yes, unBabe is like the
unCola I guess.
She's the bland 7-Up to the jazzy Cola of Havens.

I like it. UnBabe...never had it, never will. <throaty island laugh> <<
Hey, great Geoffrey Holder impersonation, Jason! ;-)
Aisling
I always loved those Uncola commercials as a kid primarily because of
Geoffrey Holder's laugh. For some reason every time he did it, I had
to do it too. My voice has been getting deeper now as I get older and
I can TOTALLY do that laugh spot on now. <<
Yep, I definitely guessed you for a lowish baritone, Jason! Speaking of
which, we ought to have a "post your picture" week here on r.a.t.s.a. I know
many of us have posted links to pictures from time to time (I'm thinking of
Michelle Star meeting Jacob Young!), but it would be neat to do it as an
organized effort someday.
