Have any of the soaps ever done a story on post partum (partem?)
depression? I think that would make a very interesting and
informative storyline. I don't remember ever hearing about one but
I figured someone must have done it at some point.

Gh did postpartum depression with Carly when Michael was born. It was
a story they scrambled to come up with at the last minute when Sarah
Brown's (or was it Tamara Braun's?) grandmother had a stroke and the
actress needed some emergency family leave. Carly ran off to Florida
(and the actress flew to Florida to be with her grandmother) leaving
Michael with Jason. She just didn't believe she was worthy to have a
child, and she was afraid she'd hurt him. Believing he'd be better off
without her, she left him with Jason and went off to get her head
straight. She came back and Boobie convinced her to hold baby Michael
for the first time. And she was on her way to becoming a real mother.
Ruby (of course that was before Andrea Yates!)
well that sounds like a really lame postpartum story.
