Is that kind of like "potato" or "potahto" or "tomato" or tomahto"?
Some of my co-workers used to give me grief for saying Costa Rica as
"Cost-ah Reeka"...when most say "Coasta Reeka". NM...just looked it
up on Web-MD...perhaps the script writers need to include
pronunciation charts with the big werds...eh? corticosteroid.

Nah, it's not a regional difference. There's steroids (pronounced
STEH-royds), and this is a cortisone-enhanced steroid, so "cortico" is from
"cortisone," which makes the pronunciation "KOR-tih-coe." Thus,
KOR-tih-coe-STEH-royd.
