Our newspaper in Dallas quoted ABC as saying some like "due to the need
to fit the program into its allotted time slot, characters are merged
and there is time compression and etc".
Given the humongus magnitude of the 911 event, I think it's disgusting
to employ these fictionalizing techniques. It completely takes this
ABC show out of reality and into fantasy. Why bother watching it? I'd
rather watch a 911 documentary.

I think the best documentary was the day it happened; it's still
running through my head as fresh as it was that morning....first the
radio saying a plane flew into the WTC...me calling my mom and telling
her to turn on the TV...and then while talking to her seeing the 2nd
fly in "real time". Calling my coworkers and telling them to go to
cnn.com...and then watching the live feed on the website as the
buildings collapsed. I believe I joined the majority of TV viewers
last night who opted not to watch either one of those shows; preferring
the light hearted levity of "The Simpsons" and "DesignStar finale".
on NBC last night.
The recut it a very little bit in order to add in the 'where are they
now' segment at the end,
mostly excising 'travelling bits' where not much was going on anyway.
Not sure if I like the changes, but it did not take anything
important/didn't change the timeline/
didn't change the impact of what was happening. <<
If you mean the Naudet brothers' documentary, that was on CBS. It was an
excellent documentary, even better in the new, re-cut version. Not
gratuitously sentimental, but very touching nonetheless.
