Very slight spoiler for today's episode.

Now it seems to be that Erin is involved in smuggling
abused wives out of town. She even has a tutor 'cause this is her first
rescue gig. Now why would she not tell Aiden? Cause that would "ruin"
the storyline. We are to believe that it is safer took keep Aiden in the
dark rather than to let him know he is aiding a wife beater. And as Erin
said he is the best detective in the business.

she wont tell aiden cuz the woman she is hiding is terry's wife and aiden
believes terry that the wife just up and left for no reason.. i
wouldn't t ell aiden a thing. i liked di saying to him even if she did
know or heard from her she would not tell him.. wait til aiden finds
out that that scum i s the one who attacked lily he better feel like a
big @ss, <<

What makes it all so silly is that Aiden is supposed to be a smart guy, and a
good detective - and one of the things that makes you a good detective is the
ability to judge character, and to put certain facts together. And whenever
a woman has taken her children and run away from a man, there's reason to at
least _consider_ that she had good cause to do so. I'm not claiming that
every man whose wife has run out on him is a wife-beater, but it's actually
hard enough, emotionally and logistically, to uproot children and leave your
home to go somewhere else and get a fresh start, that there's a high
probability in such cases that there's a valid reason - at least in the
woman's mind.

For Aiden to just take Terry's word outright is far-fetched at best.

And Erin's reactions are just annoying. I think it's the actress's
inexperience, or bad directing, but her darting-eyes, jittery manner, halting
speech, and general bearing of suspicious avoidance all combine to make HER
seem like the victim of domestic violence. I get that she's not used to
lying, and that it's hard for her to lie to Aiden particularly, and that this
woman's safety is her primary concern, but her reactions just don't ring true
to me. Also very hard to believe is the idea that a domestic violence
shelter would allow a new volunteer who isn't even fully trained yet to make
a decision about where to safely house a woman fleeing from a domestic
violence situation! That's _not_ how it works! Those shelters have 'safe
houses' (and often the shelter itself is the safe house), places where the
volunteers are _scrupulously_ trained about what not to say on the phone
(husbands often call looking for their wives so they have to be very careful
about giving out the safe house address), and how to keep the women safe.

AMC used to be pretty good in their research and handling of grave social
issues like this; I hate when they get something so simple, and so
_important_, wrong.
