Except that, like the theory of Janet being the culprit, it doesn't pay off
for the audience because there's been no setup. If they kept showing us
that
angle of the flowers behind the bench, but also had people mysteriously
meeting near one spot in the casino (or the boat house or another place),
constantly talking about Madden there, _then_ it would be sort of a
'gotcha.'

I know these writers are bad, bad, bad....but they're not so bad that
they've
forgotten every rule of writing good drama (just most of 'em).

Not to mention that whoever is talking to him *knows* that Josh is
Erica's son. Which, based on what we know, should eliminate Jaime and
JaR. And David too, I think.

So let's list who knows that dirty little secret.

That recording of Josh as a boy talking to Madden and saying how he
wanted to bring babies into the world like his dad was about the
cheesiest thing ever! They could have at least tried to make it sound
real. I could just picture the kid in the studio reading his script.
It was awful!

I was going to post the same thing! I could not BELIEVE how fake and
saccharine that sounded. First of all, we're led to believe that Greg Madden
made a tape recording 20 years ago of that little snippet of conversation?
Yeah, right! I would have been slightly more believable if it didn't sound
so phony. It absolutely sounded like the kid was reading it from a script
and the dialogue was so stilted -- no kid would talk like that! I'm not sure
it was even a real child reading it, or an adult trying to sound like a
child.

Absolutely terrible!
