The problem with Malone 2.0 was the plots. For such a great writer, he sure
was in charge of some stinkers. But overall, I liked his writing better
because, taken in a vacuum, each scene was so perfect and compelling. His
stories flowed quickly (so that even if we hated the plot, at least it would
be over in three weeks), the action was great, the dialogue natural, and the
acting was better as a result. I rewound quite regularly when he was in
charge, because the scenes were often very powerful.

Nowadays, the plots are only slightly less inane, but the scenes are so slow
and plodding. There might be 20 minutes of real action in a single week.
The same scenes keep getting repeated over and over, and it isn't like they
were that brilliant to begin with. The dialogue is stupid, and each scene
takes forever to get through.

What this show needs is someone to come up with brilliant plots, and Malone
to write them.
