OLTL: Mr. Malone, I Take It Back

And I'm so so sorry...

When MM came back a couple of years ago, I was counted in the
less-than-excited column, mostly because I didn't care for
what he did to the show in the 1990s. Specifically, the Patrick
and Marty show.

What's being done to OLTL now has made me see the light
of how blessed his short return was.

We have a new Lindsey. Only this time it's a guy named Spencer
Truman.

Remember how, before she got carted off to St. Anne's,
Lindsey got away with just about anything and everything?
And in order to do that, the writers had to dumb down
every character on the show to accomodate Lindsey's
<sarcasm> oh-so-brilliant scheming. </sarcasm>

With Spencer they're taking it a step further and
removing everyones' spines.

Blair - who didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday - falling hook,
line and sinker. Kelly I can overlook, she hasn't always been the
sharpest tool in the shed. Kevin was onto him, initially, and look
how he's been punished for having good instincts. Same
goes for Todd.

Dorian? She's talking a good game but I don't see her
doing anything efficient for revenge.

Paige seeking her son - just in time to present him to Spencer?
WTF?

And David. Oh, gawd, I can't stand what's being done to David.
Am I supposed to believe David has been so crushed over
losing Dorian that he's lost all will to fight back - and the
brains to do it with?

I don't want to wait another five years to see Spencer redeemed
into a tolerable character that doesn't turn everyone in Llanview
into idiots.

I want him bludgeoned. Now. And I could care less if it takes
another serial killer to do it.
