Plus, hasn't it been at least 24 hours since Joe was kidnapped? You'd think
RUTH would be looking for him! And Brooke -- it's been a couple of days
since Janet took her. Wouldn't Jamie have been notified that she hasn't
shown up for work and no one can locate her?

Here's a question that's sort of related to all this -- all the writers
trying to make Palmer look as if he's beginning to suffer from dementia?
That's the only explanation I can think of for his cavalier behavior when
Marian told him that Opal was missing. Granted, there's no love lost between
them, but Opal is his son's mother and he should be at least a *little*
concerned that she's missing. Yet all he did was stand around and make jokes
and act like a fool. He did the same thing when Adam was poisoned on
Thanksgiving Day. It makes me think the writers are either sending him off
into senility -- or just making him look like the biggest, most unfeeling
jerk in Pine Valley. And that's saying something!
