Re: Curious, I think I'm "STEALTH BANNED" on FARK.com

The below information also applies to newsgroups and any other public &
private forum wherein it becomes a "Population of Sameness" after a year or
so. And it was my biggest fear once MST3K went off the public broadcast (a
divergence into "Ranks", an obvious calculated decrease in postings +
replies, and the public bloodletting of off-topic items and off-limits
items). FARK has weathered this well for they have no absolute central
subject upon which to flock. Many other newsgroups + forums wither when the
main source of agreed upon stimulation ceases production of new product.
There has to be some fresh passion or the love goes stale.

Strange that heterosexual unions are so ignorant of basic group
same-interest interaction alliance psychology.

Matrimony in the United States should recognize this basic fact of human
interaction to diminish the 50% divorce rate within 5 years to a more
desireable 15 year range. Homosexuals at least can recognize the painful
flaws of heterosexual marriage (the immediate legal ownership and access to
50% of the partner's property upon legal recognition of the union and
alimony for a lazyass ex-spouse whom shirked getting employable job skills
when there are no children to support).

Many forums become over time almost exclusively populated by Xenophobes,
especially if the senior members of the forum have spent their time
indoctrinating new members to their way of thinking. When this occurs, the
forum members often find that the best way to remove themselves from the
trouble Newbies that have the temerity to question the existing order is
simply to put up the walls and declare themselves closed to new memberships.
This may seem to be an effective tactic, however if not carefully supervised
the Xenophobes, left without their favourite target of attack, will quickly
turn on each other and the forum will implode. In this case Admin will often
lower the walls and admit a few Targets for the forum to band together
against and preserve some form of sanity. Strangely enough, if the Target
manages to weather the pent-up attack (or if he has contacted a particularly
skilful Diplomat), he may eventually become a welcomed member of the forum
once the Xenophobes have cooled down.

Aha, yes. You need to mention that such a forum, if it does not implode
immediately from inside factions, becomes very quickly moribund.
