And remember depending on US or Europe:
In US most weapons used in SoLAR (The Southern Organisation for LiveAction
Roleplaying)
do not have any rod/stick/center in their weapons, they ar foam all the way
through.
In Europe most LARP weapons have some sort of bamboo (homemade) or
glassfiber (home and proffessionel) rod to keep the weapon rigid.
I would suggest contacting the local soceity of LARP in your area, there
might be some who can help out making the weapon safe (And look good at the
same time).
