Jennifer - you don't say which country you are in, but these are the colours
which we used to use in the UK for normal 240V cabling: Green = Earth, Red =
Live, and Black = Neutral. But these were phased out in the early 1970s if I
remember correctly (to the current Green + Yellow, Brown, and Blue). I don't
know if this might agree with the history of this particular lantern or if
anyone else has any ideas? Peter Vincent, UK
