Call me unsophisticated, but I liked Jerry Lewis as Applegate. It's
not a huge stretch of the imagination to picture hell as being rules
by Jerry, and whatever else you can say about him, he was FUNNY.

Not in London, he wasn't. Perhaps, by the time I saw him, he'd been doing it a little bit too long - but, for whatever reason, it was one of the worst, most egregiously self-regarding performances I've ever seen on a professional stage. Shame, because I liked a lot of things about the production.
