Cliff Richard, a few years later, played the title role in "Heathcliff", a (very, very bad) musical version of "Wuthering Heights" (with very, very bad lyrics by Tim Rice, and worse music by John Farrar, who is possibly best known for having perpetrated "You're the One That I Want" and "Hopelessly Devoted To You"). Yes, I saw it. No, not willingly (my mother wanted to see it). Yes, it still gives me nightmares.
