Under the title "Replace This Critic" you post carefully edited
snippets rather than a whole review. I'm not sure why. I agree with
Brantley that the cuddly aspects of the show were emphasized and that
Audra is not remotely matched by her supporting cast. I also concur
with his rave for Audra; it's clear to me he was urging his readers to
see it (though this is not at all clear from the bits and piece you
post).

Wow. I must say, I thought Newport's snippets spoke for themselves.
I had not read the review. Brantley definitely raves for Audra
McDonald's performance and makes clear that the show was worth
seeing. The snippets do give the wrong impression. The review speaks
to the show I saw.
