The major West Coast cities -- LA, SF, and Seattle -- seem to have
become a sort of new New Haven. Seattle has an enthusiastic,
knowledgeable theatre audience and it's less convenient for
professional haters to come see a work-in-progress and badmouth it
around town and around the internet. HAIRSPRAY, THOROUGHLY MODERN
MILLIE, JEKYLL & HYDE, and LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA are some shows that
played Seattle on the way to Broadway but there've been many others.
Another Seattle/Broadway connection is Dan Sullivan and Doug Hughes,
two of the busiest directors in New York, who were the artistic
director and assistant director, a few years back, at the Seattle
Rep. Then there's PIAZZA's Bartlett Sher, who is still running
Seattle's Intiman Theatre.
I just got my tickets for YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN for August 16. Has the
show got an opening date yet in New York?

is it possible internet chatter is the reason producers are opting to
open a show as far west of the Mississippi
to prevent laptop critics from getting on buses to those once
traditional try-out towns such as Boston-New Haven- Philly

Philly to Boston by train>
-geez- when was the last time anything pre or post broadway played New
Haven ??
