of Love" wasn't anything like as bad as some of the Broadway reviews
suggested. I'm not saying he was brilliant in it (I saw him in it in
London), and I'm certainly not saying it's a great show, but two or
three of the New York critics really seemed to have their knives out for
it.

Yes, I think it was Mr. Frank Rich who called him a "beefy juvenile" and
also wrote "the aptly named Ann Crumb." I later saw Ms. Crumb in ANNA
KARENINA and RAGS- and she was not crummy.
