When I said "consider the source" I used it in a generic way -- ie.
'when you hear comments that contradict what a majority is saying or
which contradicts what you yourself feel to be so about something,
consider the source'.
The term 'consider the source' is not necessarily a derogatory
statement. If I heard or read a comment that I thought was
questionable, I would ALWAYS consider the source. I would seriously
give a great more credence to the opinion or statement of someone I had
great confidence in and admiration for. And in considering the source,
I might change my own thoughts or opinions.
Spelvin first took the suggestion personally, then took it negatively
(which is understandable given he took it personally) then he attacked
another poster, then he blamed me for that attack.
I personally don't think that fromoon has anything to apologize for.
